Advocacy in Dermatology

The Dermatology Trainee Advocacy Group (DTAG) is an initiative designed to empower dermatology trainees—medical students, residents, and faculty—to engage in health policy and advocacy.

The event focuses on:

• Discussing policy issues impacting equity and access to dermatologic care.

• Training participants in advocacy to influence local, state, and national policies.

• Empowering trainees to find their legislative voice and shape health policy.

Through education, legislative action, and community engagement, we tackle key issues affecting both patients and practitioners—from policy initiatives to public health campaigns. We provide resources, opportunities, and a platform to influence healthcare policy, ensuring equitable access to dermatologic care for all.

Why advocacy matters

Your Voice Matters: Advocacy amplifies physician and patient perspectives in legislative decisions.

Legislative Impact: Critical issues include telehealth, health equity, step therapy, drug pricing, and private equity in dermatology.

Advocacy has the potential to impact thousands of patients, improving access to physician-driven, patient-centered care.
