Advocacy in Dermatology

The Dermatology Trainee Advocacy Group (DTAG) is an initiative designed to empower dermatology traineesโ€”medical students, residents, and facultyโ€”to engage in health policy and advocacy.

The event focuses on:

โ€ข Discussing policy issues impacting equity and access to dermatologic care.

โ€ข Training participants in advocacy to influence local, state, and national policies.

โ€ข Empowering trainees to find their legislative voice and shape health policy.

Through education, legislative action, and community engagement, we tackle key issues affecting both patients and practitionersโ€”from policy initiatives to public health campaigns. We provide resources, opportunities, and a platform to influence healthcare policy, ensuring equitable access to dermatologic care for all.

Why advocacy matters

Your Voice Matters: Advocacy amplifies physician and patient perspectives in legislative decisions.

Legislative Impact: Critical issues include telehealth, health equity, step therapy, drug pricing, and private equity in dermatology.

Advocacy has the potential to impact thousands of patients, improving access to physician-driven, patient-centered care.
