  • Renato Aranda PharmD

    Ren Aranda, PharmD, BCPS is a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in dermatology at UAB Medicine. He also serves as an Affiliate Clinical Instructor with Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy and co-chair of ALSHP’s New Practitioners Committee. He earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Harrison College of Pharmacy in 2020 and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL in 2021. After completion of his residency, he joined the critical care team at DCH Regional Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. Dr. Aranda joined the dermatology department at UAB Medicine in 2022, where he has played a key role in establishing new clinical services that have resulted in improved patient outcomes. Additionally, he is active in several state and national organizations including the Alabama Pharmacy Association (APA), the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ALSHP), and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).

  • Nicole S. Gunasekera, MD, MBA, FAAD

    Nicole Gunasekera is a dermatologist at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, where she serves as the Director of the Vitiligo Clinic and Director of the Skin of Color Clinic . She is an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, where she teaches in the pre-clinical dermatology course and precepts medical students and residents in clinic. She also serves as a medical advisor for the national vitiligo support group, VitFriends.

  • Holly Gunn, MD, FAAD

    Dr. Gunn is a board-certified Dermatologist with over 13 years of experience. She offers dermatology care for all ages and specializes in medical, surgical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology.

    She recently served as an assistant professor of Dermatology and Director of the UAB Dermatology Cosmetic and Laser Clinic.

    Dr. Gunn is originally from Mobile, AL and she graduated from the University of Maryland, where she majored in biochemistry. She then attended medical school in her hometown at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. She moved to Pennsylvania and completed an internal medicine internship, skin cancer prevention research fellowship, and dermatology residency at Penn State University Hershey Medical Center. She also obtained a Masters in Public Health Sciences during her residency and fellowship years. She now owns her own practice, Gunn Dermatology, with two locations in Mountain Brook, Alabama.

  • Tiffany Mayo, MD, FAAD

    Tiffany Taylor Mayo, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and Associate Professor of Dermatology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    She received an undergraduate and master’s degree in Chemistry at Tuskegee University. Dr. Mayo completed her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX and an internship in Internal Medicine from McGaw Northwestern Medical Center, Chicago, IL. She completed Dermatology training at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    Her interests include skin of color, hair and scalp disorders, hidradenitis suppurativa, and clinical trials. She leads the Ethnic Skin and Hair Clinic and is Director of the Dermatology Clinical Research Unit. She also serves as Department Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

    In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Mayo mentors students interested in medicine and dermatology, serves on several committees related to medical student education, and is actively involved in the Skin of Color Society.

    When she is not working, Dr. Mayo enjoys spending time with her three children and husband.

  • Valarie Molyneaux

    My name is Valarie Molyneaux, I am a Wife and Mother of 2 educators.

    I am an Author, Poet, Advocate, Activist, Entrepreneur, former Educator, Notary Public, Humanitarian and Philanthropist.

    I started VITFriends Vitiligo Support Group, Inc (501c3) in 2009, and from ONE group in Boston, MA to a total of 15 groups across the USA.

  • Cassie Abrams, OMS-2

    Cassandra Abrams is a current medical student at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine working towards her degree in osteopathic medicine. Diagnosed with type-1 diabetes and vitiligo at the age of 12 her experiences in the healthcare system are what has fueled her desire to become a physician. Cassandra graduated from Binghamton University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience and a minor in Health and Wellness Studies. She continued her education at Stony Brook University earning a Master’s in Public Health and a Master of Science in Nutrition. Her graduate thesis, completed with the aid of College Diabetes Network, evaluated the nutrition literacy in young adult type-1 diabetics and how this knowledge impacted health outcomes like A1c values. Utilizing her personal patient experiences Cassandra hopes to create a more inclusive environment for people living with chronic illnesses in the healthcare sector.

  • Vlada Groysman, MD, FAAD

    Vlada Groysman, M.D. is the founder and Medical Director of Cahaba Dermatology & Spa Skin Health Center. She is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Groysman specializes in medical, surgical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology for adults and adolescents. Dr. Groysman has a special passion for women’s health dermatology and received specialized training for vulvar dermatologic conditions and is proud to be the only Vulvar Dermatologist in the Southeast.

    Dr. Groysman received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry, as well as a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Arizona. She completed residency in dermatology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and became Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatologic surgery by the American Board of Dermatology. She worked as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Alabama Department of Dermatology where she served as Director of the Women’s Health Clinic. She is a Member of American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatology Surgery and Alabama Medical Society.

    Dr. Groysman is a National Advanced Trainer for Galderma and Allergan Aesthetics and Clinical Director of Cahaba Dermatology Research Department. She serves on the Medical Advisory Board for Vial Health Research.

    She is a medical director of Spa Cahaba which was established in 2012.

    In 2021, she received the Birmingham Business Journal’s Women to Watch award. Cahaba Dermatology won Shelby Living Magazine’s Best Dermatology office in 2021 as well as Best Dermatology and Spa in 2022 and 2023. Cahaba Dermatology has also been a finalist for Hoover Living Magazine’s Best Dermatologist office in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

    Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Groysman enjoys spending time with her husband Joel, her children Naomi and Jonathan, her dogs Snickers and Milo, as well as traveling, reading, cooking and doing yoga.
